Yushchenko returns the European Social Charter to Parliament for lack of resources

09.08.2006    source: www.utro.ua
President Yushchenko has returned the Law “On ratifying the European Social Charter (revised)” passed by the Verkhovna Rada on 21 July back to Parliament with his suggestions, it was stated on 9 August by the President’s press office. The reason given for returning it was that the document approved by Parliament includes a commitment by Ukraine to implement the norms of the Charter in full, however the financial position of the country does not actually enable Ukraine to carry out these demands.
