Kramatorsk: Women drive armed militants out from their street

21.05.2014
The women walked up to the mini-van in which armed men in masks were sitting and told them to get out, saying that the men were hiding there behind women and children, since the military can’t shoot where civilians could be hurt

A group of women have stood up to some of the armed militants and succeeded in driving one mini-vanload out.  The video can be viewed here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=4v5oc1pwlBY

The women walked up to the mini-van in which armed men in masks were sitting and told them to get out.  They say that the men are hiding there behind women and children, since the military won’t shoot where civilians could be hurt.  Their children can’t go to kindergarten, to school and they’ve had a gutsful of “this terror”.

“We’d had enough of your provocation, enough of your hiding behind women and children.  Get the hell out of here now.  We’re not leaving until you get out”

One woman can be heard shouting: “I don’t want you here frightening my children”

At one point the door of the van opens, one man gets out and threats are heard from another inside.  The women do not give up, and also appear to be reporting the van, and noting its registration number.

Eventually the van moved – first only a metre or two, then away.
