war crimes in Ukraine

The Tribunal for Putin (T4P) global initiative was set up in response to the all-out war launched by Russia against Ukraine in February 2022.

The General Prosecutor’s office responded to the request of MP M. Tomenko about „Order of the Ministry of transport of Ukraine No. ?61/4-O of 18 December 2002 on the introduction of information censorship on transport“

14.12.2003
The General Prosecutor’s office conducted the check and found some violations.
According to the words of Mykola Tomenko, the head of the Supreme Rada committee in charge of the freedom of speech and information, General Prosecutor Piskun informed that the General Prosecutor’s office conducted the corresponding check. The check showed that items 8.2 and 8.3 of „The Instruction on placing advertisements and printed information, as well as distribution of the press at the railway stations and in trains of Ukraine“ approved by order No. 644-o of 12 December 2002 of the General manager of the Ukrainian railroads „contradict the demands of the Law of Ukraine „On printed mass media (press) in Ukraine“. Besides, Piskun communicated: „The General Prosecutor’s office handed the protest to the Minister of transport of Ukraine, who is, at the same time, the General manager of the Ukrainian railroads, with the aim of bringing the instruction into accord with the operating laws. The consideration of the protest is controlled by the General Prosecutor’s office.“

In this connection Tomenko appealed to the President of Ukraine and to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers asking to check the legality of the fact that the top posts are occupied by the people, who, by the official data of the General Prosecutor’s office, brutally violate Ukrainian laws. „I want to point out that introducing censorship is a violation usual for the people close to the Social Democratic Party of Ukraine (united). Mr. Kyrpa, the Minister of transport, who violated the law by his order, was appointed to the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers by this very party“.
