The event will be attended by human rights activists from different regions of Ukraine, politicians, academics and journalists.

The roundtable is taking place within the framework of the project “Regional aspects of the human rights situation in Ukraine” with the financial assistance of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

The project is aimed at developing an aspect of state policy in the field of human rights in order to unite the country and overcome any divide between East and West. The research, as well as providing an analysis of incidents involving violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms, provides recommendations to state authorities and bodies of local self-government, nongovernmental organizations and donor institutions on ways of improving the situation.  The project began in November 2005 and ends in September 2006.

Participation in the roundtable is free  to all those who wish to attend.
