Selyk was detained on Sunday near the Kyiv City Administration building when he decided to follow the protest action against the increase in the fares on public transport.

Having arrived at the place where the protest was taking place he saw two police cars hit each other and clapped. He was arrested by a police officer.

During the protest on Sunday a group set fire to car tops which they had brought with them.  The protesters did not comply with police orders to stop this behaviour and were taken to the Shevchenkivsky District Police Station where administrative offence protocols were drawn up.
