2009: 16 Days against Gender Violence

The International Women’s Human Rights Centre “La Strada – Ukraine” has announced the start of the annual campaign to raise awareness of the problem of violence against women and in the family. This year, as part of the 16 Days, La Strada – Ukraine has again organized consultations by representatives of the Department of Public Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the National Help Line on Domestic Violence and Protection of the Rights of the Child. The consultations will take place on 26 November from 17.00 to 19.00, with qualified advice available on: - protection from violence in the family; - the procedure for approaching institutions and organizations in order to prevent violence; - legislative safeguards against violence in the family; - procedure for complains against actions or inaction of the police with regard to violence in the family.
