Medical treatment of parliamentarians 120 times more than spent on treating tuberculosis patients

The entire allocation under “Measures for overcoming the tuberculosis and AIDS epidemics” comes to around 150 thousand UAH. That is, 19 million spent on treatment of VIP patients is 127 annual budgets for treating tuberculosis

The Cabinet of Ministers has issued an Instruction allocating the State Department of Affairs under the President [DUS, the words are no more informative in Ukrainian – translator] 100 million 239 thousand UAH for treatment of Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada and top management of State bodies.

Sanitary-medical services for National Deputies will cost the taxpayer 14, 6 million UAH, while their out-patient treatment is estimated at 4, 5 million.

The entire allocation under “Measures for overcoming the tuberculosis and AIDS epidemics” comes to around 150 thousand UAH. That is, 19 million spent on treatment of VIP patients is 127 annual budgets for treating tuberculosis.

To cap this all, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 21, 5 million UAH for financing sanatoriums under DUS. Other “crumbs” will be shared out between other parts of the budget – spending on transport, stationery, paying communal bills, etc.
