Twenty six miners have been injured in yet another methane explosion, this time at the Krasnokutska Mine. According to the Emergencies Ministry, 5 men are in intensive care while 21 received injuries of moderate severity and are in hospital. The accident apparently happened at a depth of 155 metres during the dismantling of a layer wall when an electric cable hoist was switched on.

The mine belongs to the Donbas Antratsyt state enterprise, and work, the Ministry reports, has not stopped.

This is the third accident in a week, with the first and most fatal at the Sukhodilska-Eastern Mine, owned by billionaire and MP from the ruling Party of the Regions, Rinat Akhmetov also involving a methane explosion.
