The former Minister of Internal Affairs and leader of the opposition People’s Self-Defence Party, who has been in custody since the end of December last year, was brought to court in the same van as former Prime Minister, presidential candidate and leader of the opposition Batkivshchyna Party, Yulia Tymoshenko

The Pechersky District Court  in Kyiv rejected another application for the release from detention of former Minister of Internal Affairs Yury Lutsenko. Judge Serhiy Vovk turned down the application saying that this was not subject to appeal.

Yury Lutsenko himself pointed out to the court that he had already been held in detention for 225 days.

The former Minister of Internal Affairs and leader of the opposition People’s Self-Defence Party was brought to court in the same van as former Prime Minister, presidential candidate and leader of the opposition Batkivshchyna Party, Yulia Tymoshenko who was remanded in custody on Friiday.  Lutsenko called her arrest unlawful and said that the court order was a cynical challenge to Ukrainian legislation.
