CVU: Pro-Russian activists sold information about pro-Ukrainian activists in Odessa

Anatoly Boiko, head of the Odessa Regional Branch of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine [CVU] has warned that Odessa is “on the threshold of terror” following the leaking of personal data about people who have spoken out in support of Ukraine’s unity.

Anatoly Boiko, head of the Odessa Regional Branch of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine [CVU] has warned that Odessa is “on the threshold of terror” following the leaking of personal data about people who have spoken out in support of Ukraine’s unity.

Boiko believes that either the police or doctors sold pro-Russian activists data regarding people who went to clinics for medical care. There are now calls on social networks giving the surnames and addresses of people who they think should face revenge attacks for the people who died in the Trade Union House.

He adds that the police are at present taking no real and effective steps to deal with the situation.  He stresses that the events of May 2 in Odessa took place because of treachery by enforcement bodies and points out that the Odessa public, and EuroMaidan had been begging the interior minister Arsen Avakov to replace the head of the Odessa police, Petro Lutsyuk. He suggested that there were political motives since that head of police had been appointed as part of the quota of BYUT, the party Avakov (and Tymoshenko) belongs to.
