Moscow police department promises to punish officers collecting information about Georgian children

The Head of the Main Department of Internal Affairs in Moscow Vladimir Pronin has promised to punish police officers who collected information in schools about Georgian children.

According to Pronin, an investigation is being made into whether there were such incidences.  He denied that schools had been sent official requests for information.

On Friday over 130 people were sent from Moscow to Tbilisi as illegal immigrants.

In Moscow several Georgian restaurants and casinos have been closed, with the police claiming that these belong to Georgian criminal figures.

Earlier the Russian Accounting Chamber reported spending not as intended of funds of the Russian Academy of Art, which is headed by Zurab Tsereteli. It also became known that the tax police had taken an interest in the income of the writer Grigory Chkhartishvili, known under his pseudonym Boris Akunin.
