121 State Deputies have so far come out in support of Zakharov as Human Rights Ombudsperson

121 representatives of 4 factions in the Verkhovna Rada over a space of two hours added their signatures to a statement in support of Yevhen Zakharov’s candidacy for the position of Human Rights Ombudsperson.  The only faction which has not provided even one voice of support is the Communist Party.

The candidacy has been put forward for consideration by a profile committee presently in session. The issue of a new Human Rights Ombudsperson is on the agenda.

“Maidan” will keep all posted on the development of events which we have expended great efforts to achieve.
