Public City Council created in Kherson
The Mayor hopes that the Council, which has been formed at the initiative of different civic organizations, can focus deputies’ attention on burning issues rather than on political battles
The initiative to found such an association was presented to the City Mayor Volodymyr Saldo by representatives of non-profit making organizations in the city.
The newly-formed body will carry out consultations and give recommendations to deputies of the City Council. The Mayor of Kherson believes that they spend too much time and energy on political battles. In his opinion, the public council could draw deputies’ attention to more important issues.
The public council at present has 21 representatives of different civic organizations, but in the future this may be expanded
