1 September: Ukrainian language schools in Donetsk region to defend their right to exist
According to their decision, it is not permitted to increase the number of Ukrainian language schools and classes, or kindergartens or childrens groups. The decision was voted in on 20 May by 55 of the 58 deputies present. The restrictions are supposedly to improve the work of education in Donetsk.
On 27 March President Yushchenko called for Ukrainian to receive wide-scale and full State support.
