Mayor of Kyiv Leonid Chernovetsky has signed instructions to organize a city patrol team to provide help to the homeless and street kids in winter.  Three brigades are to be formed which will provide aid in the form of food, clothing, shoes and humanitarian assistance.  Where needed, the brigades will be able to give first aid care or call an ambulance.

The City Administration’s website states that the brigades will be working from 1 December to 1 April next year.

The relevant bases will be formed in each district of the capital where a stock of clothes and shoes for the homeless will be held.  To create these stocks, sponsor, charity and patron aid will be enlisted, as well as humanitarian aid from civic organizations’ institutions and from individuals.
