Court orders Sevastopol Police to provide information about communications interception

The Lviv District Administrative Court has ordered the Ministry of Internal Affairs Department for Sevastopol to provide information on the number of applications by staff of the said Department for court warrants on intercepting communication channels, seizing postal or telegraphic correspondence and initiation of criminal investigations under Articles 145, 162, 163, 168 and 182 of the Criminal Code.

The Court stated in its ruling that the refusal to provide depersonalized information to the claimant had been unlawful, not based on the law, and therefore the Court agreed with the claimant and her representative that the MIA Department had breached Article 11 of the Code of Administrative Proceedings.
