Broadcasting Council: viewers complain of biased news coverage on TV

In the first half of 2010 the National Television and Broadcasting Council received 179 letters from TV viewers and listeners to the radio. The largest number – 52 – were about the work of Ukrainian and foreign TV and radio companies, however 33 letters contained complaints of violations of the Law on Information. Members of the public complained of biased and non-objective coverage of events on television and ask that television channels broadcasting incorrect information to be made to issue retractions.
