TV journalists complain that their story was cut

The “Media Front” employees’ trade union wants to know whyTV STB Special Correspondent, Serhiy Andrushko’s feature on officials’ lack of knowledge of the Ukrainian language was prevented from being broadcast

The “Media Front” employees’ trade union has considered a complaint from TV STB Special Correspondent, Serhiy Andrushko that a feature on officials’ (lack of) knowledge of the Ukrainian language was prevented from being broadcast. The feature was ready for broadcast but did not end up in the news report.

The union’s council has passed a decision to approach the STB Editorial Council asking for an explanation. If they receive no response within three days, they say that they will, in accordance with the Law on Trade Unions, approach the Commission on Journalist Ethics.

Media Front also intends to approach the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech and the Media, as well as the special commission on cases of censorship, asking for an opinion regarding both the report and the fact that it was stopped from being broadcast.
