Tymoshenko’s Lawyers plan to ask for the indictment to be read again
“We will be demanding that the indictment be read out again in the court since Yulia Tymoshenko had been ejected from the courtroom in violation of the norms of the Criminal Procedure Code.."
Mykola Siry, one of Yulia Tymoshenko’s lawyers, has said that they intended to ask the court to repeat the reading of the indictment.
“We will be demanding that the indictment be read out again in the court since Yulia Tymoshenko had been ejected from the courtroom in violation of the norms of the Criminal Procedure Code. If the court does not agree, we will insist the reading of the indictment be reproduced in television mode.”
He stressed that during the reading of the indictment, neither the accused nor her defence had been present and the speech of the Prosecutor needed to be checked against the text they had been given to familiarize themselves with.
