TYMOSHENKO HAS BEEN ARRESTED

The court, presided over by Judge Rodion Kireyev, has just arrested former Prime Minister and leader of the Batkivshchyna Party, Yulia Tymoshenko. The Ukrainska Pravda correspondent reports that a convoy arrived at the court to take her into custody

 

The court, presided over by Judge Rodion Kireyev, has just arrested former Prime Minister and leader of the Batkivshchyna Party, Yulia Tymoshenko.  The Ukrainska Pravda correspondent reports that a convoy arrived at the court to take her into custody.

There is a line of police between the convoy and those present in the courtroom.  

There are chants of “Yulia we’re with you!” and “Shame on Kireyev!”

In his ruling, Kireyev stated that Ms Tymoshenko had systematically disrupted order in the courtroom.

The former Prime Minister asked to not have handcuffs put on and left the courtroom with the police.

A scuffle began in the court as  National Deputies trying to burst into the convoy room and ran up against Special Force Berkut officers, who were apparently also blocking the stairs down to the street
