According to  Valentina Telychenko, the lawyer representing Georgy’s widow, Myroslava Gongadze, during the interrogation, former MIA General Oleksy Pukach repeats phrases learned by heart and does not answer the prosecution’s questions.

Ms Telychenko said that the court on Thursday continued questioning Pukach.

“The prosecution forms its questions and Pukach adamantly recounts what he deems necessary, largely ignoring all questions. The judge was forced on several occasions to point out to the defendant that he needs to consider the questions. Yet he repeats some phrases already learned by heart, about how he didn’t plan the killing, about a State coup, spies and so on. Taken together these do not constitute a logical story of the killing. Pukach is behaving as before”, Ms Telychenko said.

At the beginning of September Valentina Telychenko stated that Pukach had at the court hearings named the same surnames as during the criminal investigation  of those he alleges ordered the killing of journalist Georgy Gongadze, these being Kuchma, Yury Kravchenko [then Minister of Internal Affairs], Volodymyr Lytvyn and Dzhyga [the First Deputy Head of the MIA].
