Media Union condemns use of public funding for journalists’ trips

The Independent Media Trade Union has expressed its opposition to the use of public funding for journalists to travel together with the President , for their accommodation, etc.

The Union stresses that the President’s Press Service should make every effort to ensure that all events in which the President takes part are as open as possible for journalists who can attend at the expense of their media outlet, from their own picket or from grants. Where the technical conditions allow, the Press Service should broadcast events in which the President participates online and make it possible for journalists to work at a distance (organizing topic-based online conferences, for example).
