On 6 January 2012 the Kharkiv District Administrative Court allowed an application from the Kharkiv City Council and banned the Batkivshchyna Party [of Yulia Tymoshenko] from picketing the penal colony where the party’s leader and former Prime Minister has been held since 30 December.
The court order is specifically about all city and district branches of the Batkivshchyna Party, and rejects the part of the application asking for restriction of the rights of other participants in the protest as well.
