Critical website attacked by hackers
The editorial staff of the Mykolaiv website Prestupnosti.NET believe that their site is coming under attack from hackers because of very critical material they have posted recently. The Chief Editor Anatoly Chubachenko told Telekritika that they began being subjected to DDoS attacks a week or two ago. On Sunday the attack was so strong that the company which provides them with hosting refused to deal with the attacks and closed down the server which is used by three websites belonging to the Ukrainian Media Group.
The journalists drew up a list of critical publications which could have prompted the attacks. They came up with 10 possible subjects, including critical material about the Mykolaiv regional governor; the head of the regional Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Minister for Social Policy Natalya Korolevska and others. They have recently also had conflict over the dubious “anti-paedophile vigilantes” mentioned (with reference to their site) here http://khpg.org/index.php?id=1379462948
