Vitaly Klitschko, leader of the opposition Udar party, says that his plane was prevented from landing in Kyiv in time for Sunday’s Euromaidan demonstration with a terrorist threat being given as the reason.

“They wouldn’t let me land, said that because of a terrorist threat Boryspil and Zhulyany had been closed. I had to land in Kryvy Rih.  After that they didn’t let us out of the airport, then each traffic police post stopped me. I had the impression that they were seriously frightened. There were problems, and there wasn’t any time to wait.”, Klitshko told journalists back in Kyiv.

The State Border Guard Service then accused Klitschko of infringing Ukrainian legislation by not going through customs.  Klitschko himself says that he showed his passport and when the border guard said that he needed to go through customs, he reminded him that he had a diplomatic passport as an MP, and doesn’t have to go through customs.
