Couple shot dead at pro-Russian militant checkpoint


OstroV reports that during the early hours of May 9 Kremlin-backed militants opened fire on two cars which tried to drive through their checkpoint.   The male drvier of the first car was killed, as was his wife driving the second.  Their 10-year-old daughter, who was with her mother, is in a serious condition in hospital.

OstroV cites a source in the SBU [Security Service] for its information. The report says that at around 2 a.m. on Friday morning near Novo-Borovytsy on the Rostov – Kharkiv road, 2 Toyota F.J. Cruisers were found sprayed with rifle shots.
