Luhansk Internet stie suspends work after threats to journalists

The Severodonetsk [Luhansk oblast] website of the newspaper My City Severodonetsk reports that it has received information regarding plans to abduct its journalists. The publication announces, therefore, that it is suspending its work in the Luhansk oblast.  Journalists, the editorial office reports, have been forced to leave Severodonetsk.

“We ask all civic journalists to refrain from attending and filming mass events, since your identity may become known and that will put you in danger. Remember nothing has greater significance than human life and health.  Take care.”

The message, signed by the editor Aleksandr Alkerchin, ends by advising people to contact them if problems do arise, through their contact page or by phoning the Kyiv number.
