Stakhanov pro-Russian militants draw up lists of ‘enemies of the people’

28.05.2014

Informator.lg.ua reports that in Stakhanov pro-Russian militants have prepared lists of people it regards as enemies against whom it will unleash physical reprisals. Stakhanov residents are encouraged to provide contact details and addresses of journalists and pro-Ukrainian citizens who are automatically deemed to be abetting the far-right party Right Sector.

Witnesses say that threats of physical reprisals have been heard at pro-Russian rallies, with the slogans including: “We’ll find basements for all” [a large number of hostages are being held in, for example, in SBU basements, seized by the militants], They have also begun targeting local businessmen, with one having a jeep confiscated for use by the so-called ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’.  At least two important local buisnesmen, including the former men Serhiy Zhevpakov, have been added to the list of ‘enemies of the people’.

Informator notes that in the light of such events, people ending up on these lists are hurriedly leaving the city.
