Luhansk miners protest over huge wage arrears

In the Luhansk oblast around 60 miners have refused to go down into the mine because of wages owed.  According to the Luhansk oblast Prosecutor’s Office a check is being made into why the miners from the Inter-Invest Coal mine in Pervomaisk have not been paid.

The amount owed is huge – 3.8 million UAH in a very poor region where mines (including illegal “kopanki”) are often the only work available.
