One of the activists in the Dnipropetrovsk – Crimea Car Procession for Peace and against Separatism came under gunfire on Monday from unidentified individuals in Berkut special force uniforms under a Russian flag at a stop post near Chongar in the Kherson oblast.  Other members of the car rally report that PE teacher Oleh Merezhko from Zaporizhya was hit by fire from a shock pistol while driving in the procession. He was given first aid treatment by AutoMaidan doctors and then taken to hospital for observation.

They say that armed individuals at the stop post obstructed the car procession and then began shooting without warning, first at people’s legs, then close up.

Around 20 AutoMaidan set off from Dnipropetrovsk on Monday morning, and were joined by a few others in Zaporizhya.  They carried things for the military units that are effectively being held under siege by Russian soldiers.  They managed to pass some of them to the military units in the town of Salkove.  The Ukrainian officers refused point-blank to accept money.

Chongar in the Kherson oblast has found itself between Ukrainian military and the Russian occupying troops who Vladimir Putin claims are not in the Crimea.
