Pro-Russian militants abduct Luhansk school head

15.05.2014
On Wednesday afternoon several armed men in masks burst into School No. 42 and in full view of students and staff put handcuffs on the Head, Alexandra Shevchenko and took her away

At around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, several armed men in masks burst into Secondary School No. 42 in Luhansk and made straight for the office of the school’s Head, Alexandra Vitalyevna Shevchenko.

A colleague reports that Alexandra Vitalyevna was abducted in front of the children and staff of the school.

The masked and armed men took her mobile phone and laptop away and put handcuffs on her, saying that they were taking her to the SBU building [which they seized a month ago.]

Alexandra Shevchenko recently refused to hold the so-called ‘referendum’ in her school and has never concealed her pro-Ukrainian stand.
