Coalition of nongovernmental organizations created in Ternopil

The founding conference has taken place of a new coalition of nongovernmental organizations “Svoye” [“Our own”]. With the aim of improving the standard of living and building an open democratic society, representatives of civic association and unions in the Ternopil region have decided to unite forces in this coalition. Its memorandum states that it hopes to represent the community in important state-building processes. Particular spheres which it hopes to promote are development of tourism, transport corridors, the introduction of innovative and high technology, and the restructuring of the agricultural industry. The head of the department on tourism for the Ternopil Regional Administration Mykhailo Lysevych, who took part in the founding conference, stated that given the Coalition’s wish to be involved in developing tourism (the members of the coalition include tourist organizations, two of which have received grants for developing tourism), the department plans to work in cooperation.
