After the crisis is over, Karpachova thinks up a “helpline”

The Human Rights Ombudsperson’s Secretariat has opened a 24-hour helpline to avert violations of the constitutional rights of citizens, including of military servicemen.

The Press Service of the Ombudsperson Nina Karpachova states:

“With an exacerbation of the political and legal crisis in the country the Human Rights Ombudsperson is receiving appeals regarding possible threats to people’s constitutional rights” …

In order to increase parliamentary monitoring over adherence to the constitutional rights of citizens, in accordance with Article 101 of the Constitution and the Law “On democratic civil control over the military organization and law enforcement agencies of the country”, an Ombudsperson’s “helpline” will be working.

“Citizens of Ukraine, including military servicemen, in the event of a violation of their constitutional rights or threat of such may ring the Human Rights Ombudsperson’s “helpline” which is working 24-hours on the lines: 253-75-89 або 253-80-04".

As already reported, the Human Rights Ombudsperson began examining the violation of the rights of school children taken to a political rally in Kyiv [in support of the coalition] only several days after the information had been covered by television channels [and an appeal from the Co-Chair of the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group – translator].
