A specific type of perspective

The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council has spoken of one-sided coverage of the recent parliamentary elections by Russian television companies broadcasting in Ukraine.

According to the Deputy Chair of the Council Ihor Kurus, the Russian channels were virtually always negative about the opposition and positive about the factions within the coalition [Party of the Regions the Socialists and Communists] and about the Cabinet of Ministers.  He added that commentary about almost all events in Ukraine was provided by the same politicians.

As reported, the monitoring carried out by “Spilny Prostir” and the Equal Opportunities Committee had found that the Party of the Regions were the leaders in the scope of television advertising during the election campaign.  The journal and Internet publication “Telekritika” estimates the amount of covert advertising during the campaign at 50 million dollars.
