At the request of Ukraine’s SBU [Security Service], the Russian Federal Security Service has begun processing documentation in order to prepare statistical data from the period of the mass-scale political repression of 1937-1938 for publication.

At a press briefing in Kyiv today, the Head of the Press Service Maryna Ostapenko explained that the FSB had responded to the SBU request for documents of the Ukrainian SSR NKVD which are held by Russia.

Ms Ostapenko stated that on 15 November an exhibition will be opening at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Moscow.  The “Memory declassified” exhibition presents material now made public from the SBU archives pertaining to Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
