Monument to Polish Professors murdered in 1941

The Lviv City Council has announced that a monument is to be erected to the Lviv professors shot in 1941 on the Vuletsky Hills of the city.
The winners of a competition for the best design were announced at an award ceremony in the Lviv S. Krushelnytska Museum. The competition was a joint Polish and Ukrainian initiative from the Mayors of Lviv and Wroclaw.
The first prize was won by Alexander Sliwa from Poland, and a special prize was awarded to a Lviv team, with Oleh Trofymenko and Dmytro Sorokevych. The monument should be unveiled this year.
