The Batkivshchyna Party reports that the Kyiv Court of Appeal on Wednesday changed the judge who will be reporting on the appeal against the verdict in October in the case against former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. The preliminary hearing into the appeal is to begin on 1 December. The First Deputy Head of the party, Oleksandr Turchynov stated that they had just learned that Olena Sytailo had been appointed reported judge, replacing Irina Horb who had been studying the case material for a month already.

Batkivschyna: Court appoints new judge for Tymoshenko case

The Court of Appeals of Kyiv has changed the reporting judge on the gas case against former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko ahead of a preliminary hearing on Tymoshenko’s appeal, the press service of the Batkivschyna Party said with reference to the party’s first deputy head, Oleksandr Turchynov.
He added that no judge appointed a day before the preliminary hearing could know the material well enough to make a fair judgement and that this was clear proof that manipulation was underway before the hearing.
