The opposition believe that the employment of 299 people to implement the government’s “social initiatives” is for the aim of election campaigning at the public’s expense

The Zhytomyr Regional Social Administration for Children, the Family and Youth report that to implement the government’s “social initiatives”, 299 workers will be employed to identify unfavourable tendencies in families. The opposition believes that this is being done for campaigning work before the elections.

9.5 million UAH is to be spent on pay and provisions for the social workers in the Zhytomyr region. They are to be provided with computers, and those working in rural areas will also be issued with bicycles.

The opposition call this election campaigning with the use of public funding.  “This is a well-paid campaigning network with public funding”, Ruslan Hodovany, a deputy from the Zhytomyr Regional Council says.

The Zhytomyr Regional Social Administration for Children, the Family and Youth says that the selection process is treated very seriously. Candidates need to have a higher education and there will be a special interview (it is not stated what this is to discuss).
