New Ukrainian website on the Rights of the Child

The official presentation of the “Internet School on the Rights of the Child took place today at the International Renaissance Foundation.

At the web address http://childrenrights.org.ua/ material is available on human rights issues, juvenile justice, combating human trafficking of children, and more. The Internet School has been set up as an additional educational resource for the professional development of those involved in defending the rights of the child.  It will be of special interest to trainers and specialists in preparing programmes, projects and other measures aimed at defending children’s rights in Ukraine. It is also in general designed to raise the general level of legal awareness among the public.

During the presentation there was an opportunity for those present to test their knowledge and gain certificates. It turned out that the tasks were not all so easy. Representatives of the more than 20 civic organizations present were unable, for example, to gain the full number of points needed to gain a certificate attesting to knowledge of juvenile justice.

The website is presently in Ukrainian, only, however we will be visiting it and will translate news reports, etc, into English.
