Ukraine gives political asylum to Russian member of a banned party

20-year-old Russian national Anna Ploskonosova is a member of the National Bolshevik Party (headed by Limonov) which is banned in Russia. Her boyfriend Yury Chervochkin, the leader of the Moscow Region National Bolsheviks was killed last year.  Before coming to Ukraine she was a student at Tula State University.  She fled to Ukraine and asked for political asylum as two criminal investigations were underway against her. In Tula she was accused of assaulting the Deputy Head of the Public Safety Police Igor Zakharov during a demonstration on 7 November 2007 (Article 318 of the Criminal Code “using force against a representative of the authorities”).  And in Kaluga she faced criminal charges under Article 214 “vandalism” for writing opposition slogans on buildings.
