Police search of popular Kherson region parliamentary candidate

The Committee of Voters of Ukraine [CVU] reports that on Thursday, 18 October the Fedor Nehoy, parliamentary candidate for single-mandate electoral district No. 186 was subjected to a search by members of the Tax Inspectorate and Department for Fighting Economic Crime. They carried out an unscheduled check of the economic activities of the wholesale agricultural market Nezhdany and arrived at both Mr Nehoy’s home and his production premises.
The market was blocked, and documents removed from the parliamentary candidate’s home.
At the market a spontaneous protest action began with the protesters surrounding the tax police and shouting criticism of the Party of the Regions and Oleksy Zhuravko, Party of the Regions candidate for that electoral district whom the protesters believe organized what they see as provocation and prevented them from working.
Fedir Nehoy is the General Director of the market, and is considered by analysts to be in the first three candidates for No. 186 electoral district along with Zhuravko from the Party of the Regions and Kateryna Samoilyk from the Communist Party.
