The Tribunal for Putin (T4P) global initiative was set up in response to the all-out war launched by Russia against Ukraine in February 2022.

Vlasenko stopped from leaving the country

Despite claims by the Prosecutor General’s Office that all charges have been dropped, Serhiy Vlasenko, defender of imprisoned former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and until last Thursday, MP, was prevented from travelling abroad on Wednesday

Serhiy Vlasenko, defender of imprisoned former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and until last Thursday, MP, was prevented from travelling abroad on Wednesday, 13 March. Vlasenko himself stated that he had yet again been stopped by border guards at Boryspil Airport. “I was planning, at the personal official invitation of European Parliament representatives to take part in the urgent debate organized to discuss Ukraine, where the shameful case examined by the High Administrative Court on stripping me of my parliamentary mandate is to be considered.

Vlasenko said that this contradicted the claim from the Prosecutor General’s Office that they had no further claims against him and called it political repression.  He said again that he expects to be arrested.

Interfax Ukraine reports that the Border Guard Service told them that the ban on leaving the country was connected with an old court ruling.  As reported, Serhiy Vlasenko was stopped from attending a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on 24 January.

There is no explanation as to why the court order should still be applied on 13 March if, as is claimed, the Prosecutor General’s Office has really terminated all criminal proceedings.

As reported here, the decision to place Ukraine on the agenda at the plenary session of the European Parliament on 13 March was made after the ruling by the High Administrative Court on 6 March stripped opposition MP Serhiy Vlasenko of his parliamentary mandate.
