According to the editorial office of the new television channel “ATR”, their goal is to help restore the Crimean Tatar language and culture. In order to achieve this, the channel will have news broadcasts in the Crimean Tatar language, cartoons with subtitles in Crimean Tatar language, entertainment concert programs with the participation of Crimean performers. In addition, there will be series of programs about the 1944 Deportation, and veterans of the Crimean Tatar national movement, as well as broadcasts on religious and moral issues.

At present the television channel can only be viewed in a fairly small part of the Crimea, however it is intended to extend to around 80% of the entire peninsula.

Its hours of broadcasting are daily from 19.00 to 22.00 and from 7.00 to 10.00.

Last year the first independent Crimean Tatar radio station “Meidan” was established.
