Pechersky District Court in Kyiv suspends Verkhovna Rada Resolution which the Supreme Court slammed
The Supreme Courts Press Service reported the ruling today. It said that the Pechersky District Court had handed down the ruling at an open hear, on the basis of an application from member of the Council of Judges Oleksandr Volkov.
He had asked the court to cancel as unlawful the subordinate legislative act passed by parliament. As reported already, on 30 May the Verkhovna Rada passed a Resolution stating that the High Court of Justice would temporarily take over the functions of appointment and dismissal of judges to administrative posts
