Former political prisoner takes Russia to court over torture conditions in Crimean prison
17.11.2020
The chances of a Russian-controlled ‘court’ finding in favour of Kazim Ametov are remote, but this shocking case caused the death of 83-year-old Crimean Tatar veteran activist Vedzhie Kashka, and came close to killing two other political prisoners, and Ametov’s suit is certainly well-founded
Russia puts Crimean Tatar on trial for refusing to give false testimony about a political prisoner
19.10.2020
The trial is shortly to begin in Russian-occupied Sevastopol of Ruslan Bekirov, a young Crimean Tatar who had the courage in court to retract false testimony which the Russian FSB had earlier extracted by force

26.06.2020
The International Day in Support of Victims of Torture is celebrated annually on June 26, proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1997 “with the aim of full eradication of torture and provision of effective functioning of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment and Punishment that came into force on 26 June 1987“.

Crimean Tatar abducted after day of FSB searches in Russian-occupied Crimea
17.03.2020
Two young men were subjected to searches in Russian-occupied Crimea on 16 March, with 26-year-old Dilyaver Ibraimov then effectively abducted and only released around 12 hours later
Russia resorts to punitive psychiatry against tortured Crimean Tatar rights activist
04.03.2020
A Russian-controlled court in Yalta has ordered that 55-year-old Crimean Tatar political prisoner Yunus Masharipov be forcibly subjected to so-called ‘psychiatric treatment’. The occupation regime is thus resorting in full to the punitive psychiatry of Soviet times
“In my native Donetsk somebody is being savagely tortured right now”
03.03.2020
There are no grounds for seeing anything figurative in Stanislav Aseyev’s words about Izolyatsia, the secret ‘prison’ in Donetsk where he, Stanislav Pechonkin and other former hostages – men and women - were tortured
Crimean Tatar schoolboy subjected to electric shocks and other torture in Russian-occupied Crimea
18.02.2020

Anger over acquittal of ex-Berkut officer charged with torturing Maidan activists
31.08.2019
The prosecutors have said they will certainly appeal against the acquittal of Andriy Khandrykin, a former Kharkiv Berkut officer and, seemingly, a current police officer, who was accused of torturing two Euromaidan activists
Russia’s FSB given carte blanche to silence allegations of torture
07.05.2019
With virtually no allegations made by Ukrainian political prisoners of FSB torture having ever been properly investigated, the prospect of newspapers being prevented from even reporting such accusations is terrifying
Disabled and gravely ill Crimean Tatar political prisoner denied medication
30.04.2019
There is no reason for Edem Bekirov to be held in detention in Russian-occupied Crimea, and no justification for killing him through brutal treatment yet this is exactly what the Russian occupation regime seems intent on doing
Effective torture of Crimean Tatar & other Ukrainian political prisoners in Russian detention
16.04.2019
Human excrement dripping from leaking sewage pipes, cells in which political prisoners are held with men suffering from tuberculosis or AIDS, and solitary confinement for lying down after being refused treatment for acute pain
Convictions demanded in Russia’s most cynical and tragic attack on elderly Crimean Tatars
11.04.2019
The ‘prosecution’ in Russian-occupied Crimea has demanded suspended sentences for four respected members of the Crimean Tatar community after a farcical ‘trial’ that would have been comical had the FSB not already caused one death, and effectively tortured two of the ‘defendants’
