The Alliance “Maydan” continues its action for declassification (publication) of normative-legal acts concealed under various restricting classifications. In the framework of the committee hearings, organized by the Supreme Council committee on legal policy, the work group in charge of questions of access to information with participation of representatives of the Alliance “Maydan” prepared corresponding recommendations

On 26 April, about 4 p.m., the action “For printing” was held near the residence of the President of Ukraine at Bankova Street. Participants of the action protested against the practice of illegal classification of normative-legal acts, in particular, the use of classification “not for publishing”, not envisaged by any Ukrainian law, regarding President’s edicts and the documents of other organs of state power. The organizers of the action carried to the State Secretariat a letter, which explained the essence of their demands and insincerity of the deeds of new power.

On 19-22 April the seminar-training “Freedom of information” for state officials was held in Kyiv. The seminar was organized by the Kharkiv group for human rights protection, British NGO “Article 19” and the Institute of mass information.

On 23 April the press conference of the Alliance of public activists “Maydan” was held in UNIAN. The press conference was devoted to termination of the practice of illegal classification of normative-legal documents.

On 15 February Eduard Bagirov, the chairman of the board of the international public organizations “International League for protection of rights of citizens of Ukraine”, and Vladimir Shirochenko, a journalist of the newspaper “Pravda Ukrainy”, were not admitted to Shepetovska reforming colony No. 98, situated in the Khmelnitskiy region.
