war crimes in Ukraine

The Tribunal for Putin (T4P) global initiative was set up in response to the all-out war launched by Russia against Ukraine in February 2022.

Prosecution of Arkhangelsk historian declared high-profile and moved higher

The criminal prosecution of historian Mikhail Suprun and archivist Aleksandr Dudarev has been transferred to the investigation unit for the North-Western Federal District of the Investigative Committee of the Prosecutor’s Office [SKP]. The latter explains the decision as being due to the specific nature of the material of the case and the publicity which the investigation has elicited.

The report issued by SKP states that Mikhail Suprun created an electronic database with the details of five thousand special resettled persons – citizens of the USSR, repatriated from German territory at the end of the Second World War, as well as members of their family. It says that according to their records these people were ethnic Germans and Poles.  Having already mentioned that Mikhail Suprun had received a grant in 2007 from the German Red Cross and Historical Research Society of Germans, it repeats that he received money for preparing the database.
