A court in the Arkhangelsk region has refused to grant historian Igor Sutiagin sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for “State treason” early conditional release. His lawyer Anna Stavitskaya informed the news agency RIA Novosti of this on Monday, saying that the penal colony had given an opinion that he had not yet reformed. They also claimed that he had been punished several times and also accused of a particularly serious crime. Igor Sutiagin is a political prisoner. The charge of espionage is ludicrous since he revealed information which was publicly available. Please see further information and suggestions for action here: khpg.org/index.php?id=1266881794
