Criminal investigation initiated over alleged damage from Tax Code Protesters’ tent camp
The Article of the Criminal Code being applied is over deliberate damage, and one of the protests organizers has been summoned for questioning
The Kyiv Police Public Relations Centre has informed that the police have initiated a criminal investigation over damage to a granite slab when the tent camp was erected on Maidan [Maidan Nezalezhnosti – Independence Square] by those protesting against the new Tax Code. The investigation is apparently under Article 194 (deliberate damage to property) of the Criminal Code. Employees of a municipal enterprise have given a preliminary estimate of 200 thousand UAH for the damage.
This report confirms a number of reports in the media that one of the organizers of the protest against the Tax Code, Oleksandr Danylyuk, has been summoned for questioning to the police.
