Yet more sentences meted out to protesters in Belarus
A court in Minsk has sentenced another 6 members of the protests in December against the rigged results of the presidential elections to serious terms of imprisonment. As reported, a week earlier five received similar sentences. All were demonstrating against elections denounced by all democratic countries.
On Thursday, 12 May, Four young men received three-year sentences: Vladimir Loban; Sergei Kazanov; Yevgeny Sekret and Vitaly Martsukevych, the latter in a harsh regime penal colony. Oleg Fedorkevych and Dmytry Doronin received three and a half year sentences. They have the right to appeal to a higher court.
